Conversation bubbles representing clinical supervision for therapists

I offer integrative clinical supervision for qualified and trainee therapists, using the Normative, Formative, and Restorative model to support your professional development and wellbeing.

Supervision is not just about case management, it is about developing your therapeutic presence, understanding your patterns, and creating space for reflection in what can be isolating work.

The Three Functions of Supervision

Normative Function

Normative

The managerial function, ensuring ethical practice, professional standards, and accountability. This includes case management, risk assessment, boundaries, and compliance with professional requirements.

We review your adherence to ethical frameworks, explore difficult decisions, and ensure your practice remains within professional guidelines.

Formative Function

Formative

The educational function, developing your skills, theoretical understanding, and therapeutic capacity. This is where we explore new approaches, deepen your practice, and expand your clinical repertoire.

We examine what is working in your sessions, identify areas for growth, and integrate new learning into your existing knowledge base.

Restorative Function

Restorative

The supportive function, attending to your emotional wellbeing, preventing burnout, and maintaining your capacity to do this work. Therapy takes its toll, and supervision provides space to process the impact.

We address vicarious trauma, countertransference, parallel process, and the emotional labour of holding space for others' pain.

Integrative Approach

My supervision integrates multiple therapeutic frameworks and draws on:

Neuropsychology

Understanding the neuroscience of therapy, how therapeutic interventions affect brain function, nervous system regulation, and psychological change.

Trauma-Informed Practice

Recognising trauma dynamics in both clients and therapists, understanding vicarious traumatisation, and maintaining trauma-sensitive practice.

Systems Thinking

Examining the relational context of therapy, how your presence affects the therapeutic system and how parallel processes emerge.

Spiritual Integration

For those interested, exploring the intersection of therapeutic and spiritual work, and how meaning-making supports healing.

Practical Details

Supervision Format

The frequency and length of individual supervision sessions depend on your case load: if you see less than 10 clients per month, we would have a 60-minute session monthly, and for higher case loads, I suggest 2 x 45-minute sessions monthly to meet the regulatory bodies' requirements. Group supervision is also available for small cohorts.

Requirements

Supervisees should have professional indemnity insurance appropriate to their practice level. Trainee therapists should be enrolled in an accredited training programme and working solely with low risk clients.

Documentation

I maintain supervision records as required by professional bodies and provide documentation for accreditation applications where needed.

My Supervision Credentials

I have supervised trainee and qualified therapists across various modalities, supporting practitioners working in private practice, NHS settings, charities, and organisational contexts.

I am currently completing the Re-Vision Supervision with Soul diploma in London, deepening my integrative and relational approach to supervision.

Teaching & Professional Development

I regularly teach webinars, workshops, and modules on accredited training programmes.

Supervisees are welcome to enquire about formative or CPD opportunities, as I may have teaching activities that align with your professional development needs.
