Brain with infinity symbol representing neurodivergence support

I offer specialist support for neurodivergent adults, informed by both professional expertise and lived experience of ADHD, autism, and the AuDHD combination.

Neurodivergence is not something to fix, it is a different operating system. Therapy helps you understand how your brain works, develop strategies that work with your neurotype, and address challenges that arise from living in a neurotypical world.

What I Offer

Therapeutic Support

  • Understanding your neurotype
  • Developing ADHD/autism-friendly strategies
  • Managing executive function challenges
  • Addressing co-occurring conditions
  • Identity and self-acceptance work

Neurodivergence Assessment

  • A picture of you built from multiple angles
  • Objective testing for attention, impulsivity, and activity
  • Non-verbal reasoning and problem-solving
  • Questionnaires exploring traits, masking, and inner awareness
  • A written report that brings the findings together

Working With Neurodivergence

Understanding Your Brain

Understanding Your Brain

We explore how your specific neurotype affects executive function, sensory processing, emotional regulation, social communication, and daily functioning. Understanding why things are difficult reduces shame and opens pathways for change.

Neurodivergent-Affirming Approach

Neurodivergent-Affirming Approach

I do not aim to make you more "neurotypical." Instead, we work to understand your strengths, accommodate your differences, and develop strategies that align with how your brain actually works.

Practical Strategies

Practical Strategies

Developing systems for time management, task initiation, emotional regulation, and sensory management that actually work for neurodivergent brains, not generic advice designed for neurotypicals.

Addressing Co-occurring Issues

Addressing Co-occurring Issues

Many neurodivergent adults experience anxiety, depression, trauma, or relationship difficulties. We address these whilst understanding how they interact with your neurotype.

AI Relationships & Digital Support

I have experience working with clients where AI companions (as support, friend, or romantic partner) play a role in their lives. For neurodivergent people, AI relationships can offer predictability, clarity, and freedom from social exhaustion that human relationships may not always provide.

Whether you are navigating the role of AI support in your life, exploring attachment patterns through digital connection, or simply want space to discuss this without judgement, I can hold that conversation.

Late Diagnosis & Identity

Many adults discover their neurodivergence later in life, often after years of struggling without understanding why things felt harder for them.

Late diagnosis can bring relief and clarity, but also grief for years spent masking, compensating, or believing something was fundamentally wrong with you.

I support the process of integrating this new understanding of yourself, grieving what was lost, and building a life that works with your neurotype rather than against it.

QbCheck ADHD Assessment

I am qualified to administer the QbCheck test, a computerised objective measure of ADHD symptoms including attention, impulsivity, and hyperactivity.

What is QbCheck?

QbCheck is a 15-20 minute computerised test that measures core ADHD symptoms objectively. Combined with clinical interview and history-taking, it provides robust diagnostic information.

The test measures reaction time, attention lapses, and motor activity, providing data that can support diagnosis and treatment monitoring.

Report Analysis Session

After completing the QbCheck test online under clinical conditions, I receive your report from the QbTech lab (currently £70). We then schedule a session (£80–£100) to review your results together.

During this session, I explain your subjective awareness compared to the objective data, explore the neuroscience underlying your symptoms, and discuss next steps, whether that is formal diagnosis routes that may lead to medication, or lifestyle support through ADHD-aware health choices and government-funded structured programmes.

ADHD, Autism, or Both?

Until 2013, ADHD and autism were considered mutually exclusive diagnoses. The DSM-5 changed this, recognising what clinicians had long observed: substantial overlap between the two conditions. Research now shows that 30–50% of autistic individuals also have ADHD, and around 20–50% of those with ADHD show autistic traits.

When both conditions are present, this is sometimes called AuDHD (pronounced "aw-dee-aitch-dee", as in audio). This combination creates unique challenges for a mind constantly trying to balance competing demands:

ADHD

  • Distractibility & scattered focus
  • Emotional intensity & impulsivity
  • Seeking novelty & stimulation
  • Time blindness & restlessness
  • Difficulty initiating tasks

Crossover

  • Executive function challenges
  • Emotional dysregulation
  • Rejection sensitivity
  • Difficulty with transitions
  • Sleep disturbances

Autism

  • Hyperfocus on interests
  • Sensory sensitivities & overload
  • Need for routine & predictability
  • Social communication differences
  • Detail & pattern orientation

I have both personal and professional experience with AuDHD. When these neurotypes combine, you might experience internal conflict, the ADHD craving novelty whilst autism needs routine, or hyperfocus battling distractibility. But it can also be a remarkably creative and engaging combination: you may be full of ideas but need support filtering them for practicality, or you might be the most energised person in a group but then need hours (or days) to recover.

Understanding this internal dynamic brings more peace and joy in being yourself.

NovoPsych Clinical Inventories

I use NovoPsych's comprehensive clinical inventories to assess a wide range of mental health conditions, track symptom changes over time, and inform treatment planning.

These evidence-based tools provide objective measures of anxiety, depression, trauma symptoms, emotional regulation, and other factors that may be affecting your wellbeing.

CogniFit Cognitive Assessment & Training

I use CogniFit to set clients up with personalised cognitive assessments and brain-training programmes targeting specific areas such as attention, memory, executive function, and processing speed.

Following an initial assessment, clients can engage in tailored exercises designed to strengthen identified areas, with measurable change tracked over time.

Pearson Q-global, Raven's Progressive Matrices

Through Pearson's Q-global platform I administer the Raven's 2 Progressive Matrices, a non-verbal assessment of fluid intelligence and abstract reasoning that minimises the impact of language skills, cultural background, and verbal ability.

Raven's results help map cognitive strengths and processing styles, particularly useful when investigating twice-exceptional profiles, working with neurodivergent clients, or understanding how a person reasons through novel problems.

In-House Clinical Tasks

Beyond the externally-provided assessments above, I host a set of in-house clinical tasks at tests.healingishere.com. These are evidence-based cognitive and social-cognitive tests built directly into my practice and integrated into the wider assessment battery.

Currently available are the Multiracial Reading the Mind in the Eyes Test (mentalising and social-cognitive processing) and the Navon Task (global vs local processing bias). Additional tasks are being added.

How Your Findings Come Together

My approach to neuropsychological assessment is intentionally transparent. No single instrument should be used as a stand-alone diagnostic tool, the value of a multi-source assessment lies in triangulation: where convergent findings strengthen confidence, divergent findings reveal complexity, and the pattern across measures is more informative than any individual score.

Every report concludes with an Integrated Assessment Profile diagram, a visual summary that shows how the objective measures (QbCheck) and the self-report measures (NovoPsych battery) converge or diverge, and how those patterns inform the clinical formulation. Below is an anonymised example.

Integrated Assessment Profile example diagram showing three columns: objective QbCheck measures on the left, interpretive synthesis panels in the centre, and self-report NovoPsych measures on the right, all converging into a clinical formulation panel

Objective ↔ Subjective

Where the test data and your own self-report agree, confidence is high. Where they diverge, that gap itself becomes valuable clinical information.

Interoceptive Axis

Body awareness underpins the validity of all self-report. When body signals are muted or hard to access, this is examined explicitly rather than assumed.

Compensation Signature

Many neurodivergent adults have built sophisticated workarounds. The assessment looks for signs of strategy and compensation, not just raw symptom counts.

Reports use exploratory, non-categorical language throughout. The goal is to open a conversation about your neurocognitive profile, not to deliver a verdict.
